Remember the blue skies when you were a kid? That beautiful deep-medium blue with no hints of smog, “_____trails,” or metallic aerosol” glitter?”
Well, I just saw one of those for the first time in a LOOONG while! Perhaps buying a pResidential (s)election costs more than aerosol spraying operations (these were taken on the afternoon of Fri 08 Nov 2024, 2.75 days after the polls closed).
Enjoy (and I hope these take some of you back to your childhood, laying on your back in the green grass. Sadly, the younger ones here might not know what a BLUE sky looks like.. 😔) Notice that the Sun isn’t a gray-white smear/blob.
I know— I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. I worked 44 years to get back to 65 miles south of where I was born.
Hoping there are blue skies above you all for MANY days to come!
Edit: extra-credit points for anyone who can tell me where I was standing. It was beautiful, but it was also about 36 degrees F in the “hot” part of the afternoon. It's probably dropping to 18F tonight. Also, this close to Las Vegas, Phoenix, and near a SLC-Lax flight path, I'm pretty sure there were 5-10 passenger jet aircraft in those photos. (There might be some military ones too, this close to Nellis AFB on the flightpath to Hill AFB).
